The College Football Playoff is expanding to a 12-team format for the 2025-26 season. The field will consist of the five highest-ranked conference champions and seven at-large teams. The top four teams will receive a first-round bye, while seeds 5-12 will face off in the first round at the home stadium of the higher seed. The new schedule will see games from late December through the national championship on January 19 in Miami.
